Abstract

Soap is a mixture of chemical compounds of fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats with alkali in sodium or potassium hydroxide through a saponification reaction. Natural soap is a product made from plant extracts that benefit from cleaning and caring for the skin. Honey is one of the natural ingredients that can be added to soap making because it provides an aroma or fragrance that many consumers like and can also cause skin. Syiah Kuala University conducted community service activities by increasing the knowledge and skills of the Lam Lumpu Village community with soap-making training. This community service method includes the preparation stage, training stage, and evaluation stage of the service results. The results of the community service activities showed that the community could make soap, and their knowledge and skills increased after attending the training.
