Abstract

One of renewable energy that has potential in Indonesia is biomass. Biomass can be processed into fuel, namely by making briquettes. Briquettes are fuels made from powder or small pieces of wood, which are compacted using a briquette printer and then mixed with adhesive to form a solid. Briquettes are the result of utilizing waste to create a better, cleaner, and trash-free environment. In Lamgapang village, there is a waste management group, but the community has not made optimal use of the biomass waste in the surrounding environment. Therefore, the service team conducted outreach and made briquettes to utilize biomass waste in the Lamgapang village environment. The stages of this activity are (1) preparation and survey of the Lamgapang Village location; (2) identification of public knowledge and interest in briquettes; (3) introduction to briquette printing equipment and demonstration of briquette making; (4) introduction online marketing; and (5) evaluation and monitoring of socialization activities that have been carried out. The results of the research show that from the results of the questionnaire, it was found that 83% of the people of Lamgapang village were aware of biomass waste and its use as briquettes. After participating in this service activity, 100% of the people of Lamgapang village were interested in developing briquettes as additional family income.
